That’s me in a nutshell. Swoon! Interiors was launched in 2010 in Marion, Iowa, hatched from of my formal training in interiors and my love of blurring the lines between what I live by (mid-century modern and beyond) and what I live in (think 1890s).
In 2007 I was a design student in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, completing a once-in-a-lifetime 2-week internship with Sarah Richardson of HGTV. In a quiet place deep inside my heart, I might have been Toronto-bound, on a fast track to designing elite interiors, but God had better plans for me. I fell in love with Cameron. And Iowa. And over time I grew a new focus and purpose that fit perfectly into that same quiet spot deep inside me: Swoon!
Today, in 2012, Cam and I are five years into our comprehensive home renovation and one year into being new parents to our thriving baby boy, Talmadge. While I have the privilege of writing “owner” beside Swoon! Interiors, I readily credit Cam as my “is there anything this guy can’t do” partner in design.
Swoon Interiors is accepting new e-clients as well as local clients. Whole house, one room, or just a corner … I aim to create spaces that are a true reflection of the people who live inside them, maximizing efficiency, light, and everything beautiful along the way.
