New facebook page

Hi Friends!

I'm a little behind in the social media world, but I have started a Facebook page for Swoon! Interiors and wanted to share it with you.

Here is the link if you would like to "Like" me:

Swoon! Interiors Facebook Page

My goal is to use this means of social media to connect with YOU! I would love to know my readers better and find out what you would like to see more of on my blog. Along with being able to interact with you, I'll be posting lots of behind the scene pictures of our house renovation (some from years ago, before I even had a blog) and other projects or ideas that don't make it on the blog.

Thank you all for reading my blog and showing your support! It wouldn't be fun without you!

getting organized for fall

It looks like fall has arrived (already?!) and winter is just around the corner. Around here coats, jackets, hats and other cool weather items have been pulled out of storage for the chilly days ahead.

Our house doesn't have much in the way of closets, which means there's a real shortage of storage. Things get tossed anywhere and everywhere, which drives me crazy. There has to be a solution!

This picture has been in my inspiration file for ages, and recently I rediscovered it.

It has me thinking that an eclectic collection of coat hooks in our entry might do the trick for keeping things a little more organized (and pretty!). I've already found a few at garage sales and thrift shops but am on the look out for a few more.

I've discovered there are plenty of hooks available online, most for a reasonable price too. Everything from fun and quirky to modern or elegant! Here's a little round up with some of my favorites:

Don't you love when something so utilitarian is also stylish? I do!

Besides the entry or mudroom, here are a few other spots hooks can be put to work:
-The back of a bathroom door for towels and robes.
-Next to your closet or wardrobe to display a favorite outfit.
-Hung low in a kid's room to make tidying up easy for them.
-In the kitchen to keep aprons handy.

So, which hooks do you like best? For me it's a toss up between number 2 and 5!
(P.S. Number 4 is outrageously priced, but could make a fun DIY, if you're ambitious!)

1 Year

I can hardly believe it, but today my little guy is a year old!

We celebrated his birthday a little early since my mom and two of my sisters were in town.

Pretty sure he liked his cake!

A little sugar and he's a happy boy! Thankfully 90% of the cake ended up on his lap and not in his mouth! It was a lot of fun to watch him destroy the cake.  Kids and adults alike were quite amused!

Anyways, a happy birthday to my sweet, sweet boy! It's been a great year watching you grow!
