Since I've been on the hunt for fabric to reupholster with, I came across some prints that I thought would work as accent pillows for our bed. Since I needed to warm up my amateur sewing skills before I take on the upholstery project I thought this would be a perfect chance to do just that.
I made these pillows as removable "envelope" or "pocket" style since they are quick and easy to sew, don't require a zipper and can be removed to clean.

Whenever possible, look for pillows that are down filled.
They always look nicer and fill out better.
Don't be afraid to mix up patterns, color and sizes. For bedding, you can avoid the matching sets- It often looks too predictable. Find a pillow or spread you love and look for items that coordinate and compliment it without all being the same.
I'm thinking that I need to add a headboard to the list of projects. Maybe that will be next!
